ABOUT FISHING:Fishing at Galt Sportsmens Club is an ideal past time for the family or individual. Enjoy relaxing by our large stocked fishing pond from the last Saturday in April through to the end of September or appreciate the excitement of your child's first catch. Members may catch and release or keep 2 fish per day. The pond is now CLOSED, until the 2024 Trout season opener Please join us for the Sportsmen’s Club Galt Annual Children’s Fishing Derby. This year the event is open to ALL - members and the public. Entry Fees: Adult Members : $20.00 per person (18 years of age or older) Children : free when accompanied by at least one paying adult with a valid fishing license (17 years or younger) Member’s children who are Canadian residents under 18 years of age may fish without an Outdoors Card and license if accompanied by a paying family member who has a valid Ontario recreational fishing license. Any fish kept are part of the catch and possession limit of the person who holds the valid Ontario fishing license. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind all members of the Sportsmen Club Galt fishing section that we are governed and therefore bound by law to adhere to the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Recreational fishing regulations. This means that we must all conduct our fishing within the legal open season(s) of the species for which we are fishing. In addition, when fishing at the Sportsmen Club Galt pond, we must adhere to the daily legal possession limits that fall under Zone 16 of the Ontario recreational fishing regulations. We thank you for supporting the fishing section. All monies generated from this event will be reinvested back into the Fishing Section. Please note, the Sportsmens Club Galt Pond will be closed to all members for fishing on Saturday May 28th for a private function.
