About Handgun:

The Sportsmens Club Handgun section has a 25 to 200 yard outdoor range that is approved for restricted handguns and rifles which is open to any legal hunting caliber to qualified members (some restrictions apply). 

The outdoor range is open 7 days a week

Monday to Friday 9:00am to Sunset (Wednesday until 8:00pm under lights).

Saturday and Sunday 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Membership to the Indoor range is also available for Handgun members for an additional fee.  The Indoor range is  24/7 with the exception of discipline priority times.

2025 New Member Intake

Membership in the The Sportsmens Club Galt Handgun Section is highly sought after.   Applicants who do not yet own a restricted firearm and/or those who do not have the endorsement of a current SCG Handgun member may still be considered for membership.  Preference will be given to applicants who are endorsed by a current member of the SCG Handgun Section and who own a restricted firearm.

The 2025 Handgun Intake for New Members will commence 12:01am, 1st December 2024

Intake will continue until all available places for 2025 are filled.

Applications will be accepted by email only beginning at 12:01am, 1st December 2024.

Any applications received  before this time will not be accepted.

Available places are limited.

In person applications will not be accepted.

Applicants who are not yet members of The Sportmens Club may submit an application. If accepted, applicants will be required to pay the Initation  Fee ($100), General Membership Fee (from $210 to $370) and Safety Course Fee ($230)  for the application to proceed..

HANDGUN DISCIPLINES

ODPL

The Ontario Defensive Pistol League exists to promote matches and standardization of same using the IDPA-style rules for handgun-only and a fun mix for multi-gun matches.

SPEED CHALLENGE

A speed shooting discipline that consists of eight standardized stages with steel targets in three sizes; small circular, large circular and square targets. Shooters are scored solely by the time it takes them to complete each stage, which consists of the best four (4) out of five (5) separate strings of fire in each stage. Speed Challenge is scheduled for Monday 6:30pm-dusk May through August and the fourth Sunday 10am-1pm September through April (except holidays).

3 GUN

The newest discipline to be shot at Galt Sportsmens Club is 3 Gun.

An exciting action sport that utilizes Rifle, Shotgun and Handgun skills in dynamic courses of fire known as stages.

Club matches are held the second Saturday of every month.
